The assistant director of the Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Slađan Raičković, resigned from that position.
At the same time, Raičković applied for the position of director of that institution.
According to unofficial information from "Vijesti", the long-time first security guard of ZIKS decided to do so because of a disagreement with the new director of that institution, Milan Tomić.
Yesterday, the two did not want to comment on the resignation, and the Minister of Justice, Zoran Pažin, did not answer whether he would accept the resignation.
"Vijesti" interlocutors from Spuša prison yesterday had two versions of the alleged conflict between Tomić and his assistant.
According to one, Raičković did not want to deviate from the five-year way of working in ZIKS, even though Tomić tried to introduce newspapers into the system.
According to another, their alleged conflict dates back to earlier times.
The two will compete in the race for the position of director, as the only candidates registered for the competition closed at the end of November.
Raičković has been in the assistant position for five years, and soon the mandate entrusted to him by former director Miljan Perović will expire.
Tomić, who was also an assistant for a short time, recently replaced Perović as the first man of ZIKS.
According to unofficial but reliable "Vijesti" information, the current Minister of Justice sees Tomić as director of the Institute.
Raičković indirectly announced his departure from ZIKS less than a year ago.
