The play "The Chinese" (14+), based on the award-winning play by Maja Todorović, directed by Anja Suša, will be performed tonight at 21.30:26 p.m. on the Summer Stage in Kotor, as part of the 12th Kotor Children's Theater Festival, which runs until July XNUMX under the slogan "Around the World".
The play will be performed outside of the competitive selection, and it was co-produced by the City Theatre, the Kotor Children's Theater Festival, the "Nikola Đurković" Cultural Center and the ASSITEJ Center Montenegro.
"The play touches on many neuralgic points of our (post)transitional traumas, the biggest victims of which are children. Through a seemingly simple story about the birth of a friendship between a boy and a girl and finding a grain of meaning and reason in a world of cruel prejudices, non-recognition and disrespect of others and different, they reflect far more complex themes about a modern society that does not favor tenderness, honesty and, above all, despises weakness. "The Chinese" is a story of love, friendship and imagination. About the wizard "The Chinese" who can see the colorful world with different eyes. This is, also, it talks about today's time, but also about the memory of another time that we have not forgotten and never will," announced the Podgorica City Theatre.
The players are: Jelena Simić, Emir Ćatović and Goran Slavić, and the choir of the Musical Shloka "Vasa Pavić" with the conductor Saša Barjaktarović also takes part. The costume designer is Maja Mirković, the scenographer is Zoran Petrov, and the composer is Igor Gostuški.
