The directors of the National Library of Budva, the University Library "Svetozar Marković" from Belgrade, the National and University Libraries from Banja Luka, Mila Baljević, Aleksandar Jerkov and Ljilja Petrović Zečić signed a cooperation protocol called "Three B" the night before last.
The President of Budva Municipal Assembly Đorđije Vujović says that this cooperation has a symbolic significance.
After the ceremonial signing in the hall of the Academy of Knowledge in Budva, the exhibition "Petar Kočić" opened in the area of the Budva National Library in the same building, organized by Ljilja Petrović Zečić and "Shakespeare and Cervantes" organized by Aleksandar Jerkov.
"Some would ask what connects Banja Luka and Budva. Laymen would say that both start with the letter B, and are feminine. But there are three notable personalities that connect them. They are Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša, Petar Kočić and a famous Budva resident Spiro Bocarić, brother of the painter Anastas Bocarić. Spiro Bocvarić was the manager of the Vrba Banovina Museum before the Second World War. Kočić grew up on the work of Ljubiša and mentions it in his writings. With Ljubiša we have Kanjoš Macedonović, with Kočić we have David Štrbac, who speaks with a sharp tongue, as well as Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša in the Dalmatian Parliament", said Petrović Zečić.
Opening the "Shakespeare and Cervantes" exhibition, Jerkov said that panels from various exhibitions organized by the Belgrade library were presented.
"If by some miracle the good spirit of these gatherings of ours, which is quiet and barely visible, usually stands somewhere to the side, knew Shakespeare, Shakespeare would be with us tonight. Because there is no man in the universe whom he would not have found, whom he would not have brought, and to whom he would not have given the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of literature and the beauty of closeness. I am honored that this good spirit is my lifelong friend and that he is with us tonight. I thank him for always bringing me back to Budva, and for bringing Budva back to me, and that's what it means to me," said Jerkov.
Last night, a poetry matinee was held in which poets Dragan Jovanović Danilov, Živorad Nedeljković, Radoslav Milišević, Ružica Komar, Stanka Rađenović Stanojević and Bećir Vuković will participate.
The program will take place in the premises of the Budva National Library.
