Čotar remanded in custody: Arrested in action "Boka" changed his name

Milutin Čotar (52), arrested in the "Boka" police operation, was previously called Nebojša Đonović, the police told "Vijesta" unofficially.

The interlocutor of the newspaper claims that he changed his first and last name because of his previous conviction for a long prison sentence.

Čotar, suspected of illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials, was yesterday ordered to be detained for up to 30 days by the investigating judge of the Basic Court of Kotor, Spiro Pavićević.

Pavićević confirmed to "Vijesti" that he interrogated Čotar in the presence of a defense attorney, adding that he accepted the prosecutor's proposal and ordered him to be detained.

Čotar, an alleged member of the Kavac criminal clan, was arrested by members of the elite police unit, after a search of his house in Dobrota found a pistol and a large amount of ammunition.

According to the unofficial information of "Vijesti", a gun was found with the serial numbers removed from Čotar, who works in catering.

The weapon was forwarded to the Forensic Center for expert examination.

In the police action in which Čotar was arrested, inspectors searched six locations in Kotor that were used by persons of security interest.

Apartments where Saša Ivanović, Neđeljko Bulatović, Branko Krivokapić, Milan Đurđulov and Dejan Božić live were also searched.

Allegedly, the police associate all those searched with the kavak criminal clan.

"During the search, weapons, ammunition, vehicles, means of communication, receipts and handover of money, as well as other things and objects were found", the Police Administration announced after the search.
