The winter scene of the Bar Chronicle begins on Thursday, October 19, when a jazz concert will be organized for all visitors to the Castle of King Nikola in Bar. On that occasion, starting at 19 p.m., the famous MP Trio, one of the most active Montenegrin jazz ensembles, will perform, and entrance to the concert will be free, the organizers said.
The music program of the Winter Scenes, they point out, will consist of seven concerts of classical and jazz music.
The Jubilee Yearbook, according to the organizers, showed that the audience likes a certain genre dynamic, and that during the Winter Scene, as they said, they want to achieve it precisely with a combination of classical and jazz concerts.
"As previously announced, the Winter Scene project "Thursdays in the Castle" will be realized from October 19, 2017 to June 8, 2018. The organizing team for that period has prepared a program that includes concerts, theater for adults, literary evenings , children's plays and exhibitions that will be held every Thursday in King Nikola's Castle on a rotating basis. All information about events and current affairs will be published to the public in the next eight months, in addition to the media, on the website www.barskiljetopis.me, as well as accounts on social networks", according to the organizers of the Yearbook.
The MP Trio consists of Miladin Peruničić (guitar), Davor Novak (bass guitar) and Ivan Ivanović (drums), artists who received their education at Music Academies in the country and the region and who, in addition to actively practicing music, also work as professors at the Art School for music and ballet "Vasa Pavić" in Podgorica. The band is known to the local audience for its original repertoire, which, in a slightly eclectic way, ranges from classic jazz standards and covers of Django Reinhart's "manush" compositions, through modern "fusion" jazz and blues compositions, to covers of pop and rock hits. With their music, they try to combine a modern jazz sound with the rhythms and motifs of world and Balkan traditional music, without flirting with any of these directions. Their performances become even more attractive thanks to the concept of improvisation, which is the essence of jazz creativity.
The MP trio has so far recorded successful performances with many musicians from the region, such as: Rambo Amadeus, Ivan Aleksijevć, Ljuba Paunić, then Elvir Bandić – Banda; but also with world-famous names including: Denise Jannah, Randy Brecker, Gabrielle Stravelli, Patrick O' Leary, Bobby Sanabria, Essiet Okon Essiet, Andreas Oberg, the German band Little Wing and others.
They released two singles: "Blues shoes for Pitter Lemon" and "Hypowonder", and are currently recording an album of original music.
