The goal of Montenegrin table tennis player Filip Radović at the European Championship in Laško is to pass the group and qualify for the second phase of the championship, said his coach Nikolaj Lupulescu.

The most talented Montenegrin Paralympian will participate in the European Table Tennis Championship, which will be played in Laško from September 27 to October 1.

Radović will compete in the S10 category, in which 23 of the best European table tennis players are registered.

Lupulescu said that Radović, although he is only 17 years old, is participating in the European Championship for the fourth time.

He reminded that in Laško Radović will defend the bronze medal, the first in the history of Montenegrin Paralympics, won in Vejle, Denmark in 2015.

Lupulescu did not want to specify which result would satisfy the ambitions of the Montenegrin table tennis player, stating that the main goal is to pass the group stage of the competition.

"The main goal is to pass the group, and after that a lot will depend on the draw. We are ready and can't wait for the start of the championship. We trained hard, we subordinated everything to the championship and I hope it will give a result," said Lupulescu.

The group draw is scheduled for tomorrow.

It was announced that the championship will gather more than 350 table tennis players.
