Many, out of ignorance and disbelief, survive a heart attack and push through on their feet. Your body is sending clear signals, and it's up to you to recognize them.
These are some unusual signs that you should not ignore, because according to the World Health Organization, from 1970 to 2000, the number of heart diseases increased by 300 percent.
Swollen legs
A large portion of caloric food that you had for dinner, a pizza or a hamburger, does not have to be the only reason why you feel "like a balloon". Swollen and heavy legs can be an indicator that something is wrong with your heart.
Fluid retention is a common symptom when the heart is not pumping and processing blood properly.
Before you panic, really ask yourself why your legs are swelling and be sure to see a doctor if you think it's not from food.
Headaches
There are several types of headaches, and not every one is a sign that your heart is failing. But if it is pain combined with other symptoms, such as dizziness, it may indicate a problem with an aneurysm and that requires an urgent medical examination.
Stomach cramps
Chest pain or unpleasant tingling in the left arm are symptoms that are most often associated with heart problems. However, doctors also say that stomach cramps can be an indicator. Pay special attention if you feel pain that you have never felt before. Also, unusual pain in the upper back can indicate heart problems.
Exhaustion
This is the most difficult symptom, because it can indicate different problems, and maybe you are just sleep deprived.
Especially in women, unusual fatigue can be noticed during a heart attack, as well as several days before the attack itself. Don't always attribute constant fatigue to the weather, but go to the doctor for an examination.
Fainting and dizziness
If you have slight fainting spells and short sighs, consider it high time to see a doctor. Your body is sending you signs that your heart is not working properly. It can be an early sign of heart or lung disease, reports Radio Sarajevo.
