When the spears of more mature poets and young forces that are yet to come cross, a very productive "Evening of Nikšić Poets" is created, which once again confirmed that the city under Trebjes was and remains a city of verse.
As part of the "September days", and organized by the literary club "Poenta Poetika" which operates at the "Zahumlje" JU, a meeting of the younger and slightly older poets was arranged and verses were written by Dušan Govedarica, Jovan Drašković, Miroslav Zečević, Ana Pejović, Marijana Blečić , Nataša Lalatović, Radule Rakočević, Spasoje Bajović, Dragana Mrkić, Lazar Šćekić and Sara Drinčić.
"Nikšić's literary scene is really developed and we wanted to present to the audience the poets who left and are leaving their mark on what we call Nikšić the city of poetry," said Goran Radojičić, president of "Poenta" and moderator of the evening.
According to him, the evening was the best indicator of what Nikšić's poetry scene is like and what poets from the city under Trebjes have to offer. "We want, from time to time, as far as our possibilities allow, to host those, conditionally speaking, older poets in 'Zahumlje', to say what they have and to present contemporary Montenegrin and Nikšić poetry to the audience, to create an opportunity for young poets to somewhere they 'measure' with older colleagues who have much more experience and many books behind them", said Radojičić, who founded the mentioned club in 2014 together with the writer Obrad Nenezić.
The club has about 40 members, mostly high school and university students, and many of them had the opportunity to publish their poems thanks to the collection "Mozaik", the first issue of which was published in March last year. The second issue is already heating up, which should be released by the end of the year and, according to Radojičić, will present new works by young poets, but also the first of those who have joined the club in the meantime.
"At the beginning of October, we will be visiting Budva, at the invitation of the City Library, and the Nikšić literary meetings are coming up, where we will have space to present our members," said the president of "Poente".
And the point of everything is poetics, because as Vito Nikolić said, "a poet is found in every human being, and whoever is not a poet is long dead."
