Experts have explained which signs reveal depression, and which can help you find out if you are just temporarily in a bad mood or if it is a real depression.
Are you feeling down and listless? Are you just suffering from a passing mood or is it something more serious? Experts interpreted the signs of depression. If you have most of them, consult a doctor, because depression is a disease that can be treated.
When you feel more than sad
Sad periods are an integral part of life and are completely normal. However, if you feel intense sadness for a long period of time, and for no particular reason, it could be a sign of depression. If this sadness still interferes with your daily activities, it would be a good idea to talk to your doctor.
You eat more or less than usual
Changes in diet go along with depression. Some people then know that they eat significantly less and lose weight drastically, while others eat much more than usual and gain weight. Pay attention to these signs and if you notice that you have fluctuations in your diet, contact your doctor.
You sleep more or less than usual
If you notice that your emotions are draining you to the point where you are constantly tired and sleepy and sleep more than usual, this could be a sign of depression. Some people, when they are depressed, cannot sleep at all because of restlessness and anxiety. Let both signs be your guide to seek help.
Little things annoy you
Are you axed for every little thing? Are you sensitive to every word and gesture? Do you notice that you often argue with your surroundings because everything bothers you? And these can be signs that you have fallen into depression.
You can't concentrate
Depression makes it impossible for a person to concentrate on anything. If you notice that you have a problem with concentration at work or at home, and if it happens often, visit a doctor and describe all your problems to him.
Nothing makes you happy anymore
Depression destroys the joy of life. Think about the things that used to make you happy. Do they STILL make you happy? Can you feel the joy in yourself while doing them again? If this is no longer the case, you may be truly depressed.
Feeling worthless
Along with depression comes a feeling of worthlessness. A person feels that his life does not look the way it should, he usually blames himself for it, and he cannot help himself. If you ever find yourself in such a situation, be sure to consult a doctor, reports B92.
