As part of the sixteenth KotorArt Don Branko Music Days, probably the most popular jazz lineup of the region - Bojan Zulfikarpašić, Vasil Hadžimanov and Matija Dedić - is coming to Kotor.
Jazz pianist Bojan Zulfikarpašić will accompany Amira Medunjanin at the concert on August 11 at Kotor's Summer Stage. This artist, who built his international career in Paris, studied in Michigan, and connects jazz with the tradition of Balkan music.
At the end of this year's Don Branko Days of Music, on August 13, on the Summer Stage, two jazz pianists of different profiles - Matija Dedić and Vasil Hadžimanov - will perform. Both come from well-known musical families, whose parents marked the popular and jazz scene of the former Yugoslavia. While Vasil became interested in music with his mother Senka and father Zafir, Matija was introduced to the world of music by Gabi Novak and Arsen.
By the way, Hadzhimanov studied at the Berklee College of Music, and collaborated with artists such as Garrison, Peckham, Jenkins, Garzon, Dieng and others. He is also the author of music for several films. He is known for combining Balkan traditional rhythms and Western musical styles. Matija Dedić, graduated from the Jazz Academy in Graz, and trained with Taylor, Gelper, Dobbins, Harris. He performed in almost all European countries, and in the USA, creating notable performances with jazz musicians.
