Although it may not seem like a harmless exercise at first glance, this sit-to-stand test determines how healthy and fit you really are. You can try the exercise at home, it only takes a few seconds and is done on the floor in comfortable clothes and shoes or you can simply do it barefoot.
This exercise measures things key to determining physical fitness: strength, flexibility and balance.
The test is performed by sitting on the floor with your legs crossed and standing up, trying to use your hands or other body parts as little as possible. Results are ranked between 1 and 10.
If your score is less than three, i.e. you had to use both hands, supported yourself with the side of your thigh when standing up, lost your balance, etc., this shows that you are in very bad shape.
If your score is between eight and ten, that is, if you minimally helped other parts of your body when standing up, it means that you are in excellent condition.
If you have problems with your knees, it would be good to have someone with you during the exercise in case you cannot stand up.
Take this simple test to see the state of your muscular and skeletal system and to motivate you to work on your form, reports Beauty and Health.
