Former Sajovic Brajuško Brajušković was sentenced to 14 months in prison for endangering the safety of his relative Radomir Brajušković, causing minor bodily injuries and illegal possession of weapons.
The judge of the Danilovgrad Basic Court Sonja Keković pronounced the first-instance verdict against the former head of the ZIKS security service.
She sentenced Brajušković to three months in prison for illegal possession of weapons, three months for causing minor injuries and eight months for endangering security.
After that, she sentenced him to a single sentence of 14 months in prison.
Brajušković's defense attorney, lawyer Nikola Tomković, told "Vijesta" that Keković extended the custody of his client.
"He was convicted without any material evidence, only on the basis of statements. In criminal law practice, there is no recorded case where a person was convicted of the criminal offense of illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials, and there was no record of the investigation either by the Police Administration, or competent prosecutor. There is no paraffin glove, which, although it was seized from the defendant, was not presented as evidence. They seized Brajušković's paraffin glove, but its fate is unknown - whether a powder particle was found or not," said Tomković.
The lawyer points out that it is unrecorded that someone was convicted for illegal possession of a weapon, and that the weapon was not found.
"The rifle was never found, although the defendant's house and the auxiliary premises he uses were searched. Neither bullet nor casing was found, and the defendant's proposal to reconstruct the event was rejected. For minor bodily injury, he received three months in prison, which in my opinion in my opinion, a draconian punishment for that crime... His detention was extended, where he has been in absolute isolation for four months for security reasons, which is contrary to all conventions, rules and laws," said the lawyer.
Tomković points out that the High Court confirmed the decision of Judge Keković, which extended Brajušković's detention after the sentencing, even though the defendant is seriously ill.
Brajušković was on trial on charges that in mid-March he slightly injured a relative and threatened his safety.
In the courtroom, he admitted that he hit Radomir Brajušković with a wooden pole, but not that he shot in his direction on March 16.
In the courtroom, he said that the incident occurred when, while working on the property, he went to the well to check what caused the water to disappear.
