Drešić is exhibiting in his hometown for the first time

"I graduated from the classical academy in Cetinje, while in France I was in a school with a different character. They are oriented towards other, more modern media, but studying classical media like here gives a very good support for craftsmanship and we can be very open to everything that can follow," Drešić added

The art segment of the XXX Bar Chronicle in the "Velimir A. Leković" Gallery began with the exhibition of graphic artist Nataša Drešić "Self-realization".

The exhibition was opened by the manager of the gallery, Milun Lutovac, M.Sc., who spoke about the poetics of the graphic artist Drešić, who presented himself independently to the audience in his hometown for the first time. In the opening program, she performed on the violin and prof. Goddess Delić.

"A complex of circumstances has led to the fact that I am only now exhibiting in Bar, according to the way the competitions and arrangements are going, the free dates of the exhibition spaces... Certainly, presenting at the Bar Yearbook is a great honor for me, I thank the organizers for recognizing my work and giving me the opportunity to participate - said the artist after the opening of the exhibition, which is on display until July 19".

Drešić pointed out that this cycle of prints was made in the technique of lithography and serigraphy, and that these prints are "similar in the work process, but also different." Commenting on the unusual title of the exhibition to "Vijesta", she pointed out that the cycle has a message that the modern man in his everyday life, no matter how buried by banal content in life, must go to search and find his inner self, his inner self.

"Precisely those spaces of the unconscious are a rich source for an artist, especially a visual artist," said Drešić.

The artist from Bar completed her basic and specialist studies at the FLU in Cetinje at the graphics department in the class of prof. Anke Burić, M.Sc. In 2015, she was on a study trip to the "Ecole Superieure d'Art de Lorraine" in Metz, France, and so far she has received numerous scholarships and awards, including the CANU scholarship for encouraging the artistic youth of Montenegro for 2017.

In an interview with "Vijesti", she emphasized that it is very important for a young artist to compare the experiences gained in the formal academic educational process with what is happening in the world.

"I graduated from the classical academy in Cetinje, while in France I was in a school with a different character. They are oriented towards other, more modern media, but studying classical media like here gives a very good support for craftsmanship and we can be very open to everything that can follow," Drešić added.

Until now, her prints have been exhibited at the Virski Art Festival, the 17th International Print Biennale "Sarcelles" in Paris, the ULUPUDS Small Gallery in Belgrade, and she had solo exhibitions at the Montenegrin Commercial Bank and the Center for Contemporary Art of Montenegro in Podgorica, in Cetinje Gallery 42 , and in Metz. As he says, the place of graphics in Montenegro today is in the circle of devotees, which is not as wide as other techniques.

"Usually, these are people who have a different taste. Graphics do not have a very enviable place on our art scene, image and color have a much greater primacy, but that is not something that I am guided by in my work, because the work is not market-oriented, it is not in the first plan. My plans are to exhibit in the region by the end of the year, and I'm also thinking about continuing my education at master's studies," concluded Drešić.
