Filming the third season of one of the most watched domestic series "Shadows over the Balkans", director, producer and actor Dragan Bjelogrlić, began at Terazije in the center of Belgrade, it was announced today, reports the Beta agency.
As stated in the statement, the plot of the third and final season of "Shadows over the Balkans" is set in 1938, on the eve of World War II, and deals with police inspector Tanasijević, played by Bjelogrlić, who was assigned the case of a mysterious spill from a mine in Rtanj, which led to an ecological disaster and poisoning of people.
"At the same time, after four years in prison, Stanko Pletikosić (Andrija Kuzmanović). After the historic discovery on Rtanj, the leader of the tul, Marija Oršić, and her former lover - Maja Davidović, return to Belgrade, as well as Josip Broz Tito, - everyone interested in the mine in Rtanj. In an exciting mystery in which high politics, crime and mysticism intertwine, Tanet's and Stanko's paths will cross again and together they will have to solve a case on which not only the fate of Yugoslavia, but of all of Europe depends," the statement reads.
The cast of the third season of "Shadows over the Balkans" consists of more than 120 actors from Serbia and the region.
Filming is planned to last until the end of the summer, on locations in Serbia, Croatia and France.
