Already in its first week, XXX Barski Ljetopis gave its audience a program that, without any doubt, will be remembered for a long time.

Literary evening of prof. Dr. Sonja Tomović Šundić on Monday evening on the plateau of King Nikola's Castle in Bar, where her latest book "His Philosophy of Man" was promoted, gave the audience the experience of a unique academic lecture and a comprehensive interpretation of the messages of the great Montenegrin ruler, poet and thinker.

This work, the result of Sonja Tomović Šundić's many years of research into the poet's creativity, was recently published in the edition of the "Radosav Ljumović" Library, and in this study the author illuminated Njegoš's understanding of the human microcosm, his mortality and what is eternal in man.

Moderator of the evening prof. Dr. Čedomir Čupić, a respected university professor from Belgrade, assessed that it is a capital study of over 500 pages "which portrays Njegoš in an original way".

"This work celebrates Njegoš's contribution to humanity in general, because genius does not belong to just one people. On the pages of this book, the author has meticulously presented Njegoš's view of man through the philosophical anthropology of his entire oeuvre, and the chapter on Njegoš and women also goes into the field of aesthetics," he said. is Čupić

Full professor of the University of Montenegro, prof. Dr. Sonja Tomović-Šundić pointed out that she dedicated the book to her deceased father, prof. Dr. Slobodan Tomović, the famous "negoschologist", which for her, she added, "was a special challenge and responsibility".

She pointed out that Njegoš is "the peak of our spirit, identity and spirituality", and that in his work he sublimated the human spirit "into a unique vertical".

"His work cannot be surpassed, it is great both in its reach and in its depth in the layers that can be read. His language as a poet is symbolic and ambiguous, challenging for interpretation, and man is the center of his observation. Care of man, cosmos, consciousness and states dynamically, and man himself dually, through his material and spiritual being. Through the mouth of Abbot Stefan, he expressed in the most detailed way the eternal struggle of duality in man, and the spirit of justice and courage have a special place in his work," stated Tomović-Šundić .

The author added that her goal was to show that Njegoš was a European intellectual of his time. Grateful to the Lord for the gifts of expressiveness and mind, even without systematic education, Šundić-Tomović stated, Njegoš united the spirit of the world's best creative tradition, "from Dante to Wilton", in his works.
