At the Faculty of Economics in Podgorica, a sports panel was held last night with a very interesting topic - "Sports, motivation, self-confidence".
And good interlocutors - our celebrated aces Maja Savić and Srđan Mrvaljević, great hope Kristina Rakočević and Veselin Piletić, director of the Center for Psychological Preparation, in a conversation with the students, tried to present, approach and point out the complexity of the preparations of top athletes, with a special emphasis on psychological preparations.
Conclusion - the big question is whether in Montenegro the necessary attention is paid to this type of training, which is no less important than classic training.
"I think there should be people who will deal closely with psychology in sports, but coaches must also be good psychologists and pedagogues. I always tried to know the answer to any question that one of the players would ask me during my coaching career, which is not long, but I hope it will last", said Maja Savić, multiple winner of the Champions League and silver medalist from the Olympic Games. in London in 2012.
Judoka Srđan Mrvaljević, as a representative of individual sports, believes that it is very important that the competitor has maximum trust in the coach.
"Your coach does not have to be a champion or a big name in that sport. I think that chemistry and how you feel, whether you are sure of him and whether you trust him, is something that is crucial in evaluating whether a coach is good or not," said Mrvaljević.
Kristina Rakočević, junior world champion in discus throwing, has yet to face real challenges, but she also believes that the relationship with the coach is the most important...
"If the coach is educated, if he is dedicated, has emotion and charisma for everything he does, I don't think anything more is needed," said Rakočević, while Veselin Piletić emphasized that "every coach would be equally important in the preparation of an athlete or the entire team".
"Each member of the professional team must have his own task and subordinates it to only one goal, which is the end result of the athlete," Piletić pointed out. The tribune was organized by the Sports Association Ekomen, and supported by the Student Sports Association of Montenegro.
