A kind of embodiment of Weidel's attitude that "beauty is the only thing against which even time can do nothing", and that "philosophies scatter like sand, one faith passes after another, but beauty is a joy for all time and a property of eternity, represents the work of an ingenious sculptor, evaluated is at the opening of the exhibition of the sculptor Miodrag Šćepanović, an artist of magnificent talent, CANU academician Niko Martinović.
Šćepanović presented himself in the "Josip Bepo Benković" gallery in Herzegnov with 60 works in stone.
"With the rapture of a medieval saint, Šćepanović searches for beauty as the true secret of life. He dedicated himself to a stone that reminds him of the fact that Montenegro is a fresco in stone, that 'the stone is older than anything', and that with the image and word drawn into it, we leave 'a sign that we spent the night under the porch of the puzzle,' said Martinović.
"After the Academy, I didn't have any tools, so I started with what I had at home, some dry wood, but when I got the tools and started working in stone, then I couldn't separate myself from it anymore, it's a material that is unsurpassed... I haven't asked much about the stone I work in, but I know it is in the river near my house and I was told that it is of volcanic origin and that this kind of stone is only found in the bed of the river where I grew up. I understand and feel him well", explains Šćepanović.
