Dragan Globarević (35), an officer of the Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, was arrested today on suspicion of having committed two criminal acts - abuse of official position and embezzlement.
Globarević was handcuffed because on the night between April 24 and 25 this year, he allowed prisoner Sava Lopičić, who was being treated at KBC, to leave the hospital and be absent all night, even though he was obliged to guard and secure him.
Lopičić is labeled by the police as a member of the Škaljar clan.
A criminal complaint was filed against his brother Dražen.
Inspectors of the Criminal Police Sector headed by Enis Baković and the Economic Crime Department will suspect the Globarević brothers that during the second half of 2016 they gave 24 thousand euros in interest to DM from Podgorica
"Police-prosecutor activities carried out in the action "Loan" point to the suspicion that DG and DG, using the difficult financial condition of the injured DM from Podgorica, lent money to this person, contracting a disproportionate financial benefit for themselves. Specifically, DG (35 ) has, it is suspected, on several occasions since March 2016 lent DM money on so-called interest in the total amount of 24.000 euros, with an interest rate of 15% on a monthly basis. DM is DG (35), as suspected, in the name returned 25.500 euros in the agreed interest. It is suspected that DG (27) lent 1.000 euros to DM in June of last year, with an interest rate of 30% on a weekly basis, and that DM returned the money to him in the amount of 2.600 euros in the name of the agreed interest." according to the police statement.
