Award-winning Montenegrin painter Goran Ćetković will present his works independently for the first time in Serbia this week. On Friday, March 17, in the ULUPUDS "Singidunum" gallery in Knez Mihajlova, Ćetković's exhibition "Voices of Silence" will be opened by art historian and writer Dragan Jovanović Danilov.
"I have prepared 26 works - oils on canvas of medium and larger formats, including 'Philosopher', which I expect will attract special attention of the audience. Thematically, the exhibition represents a creative cycle composed of nudes and portraits. Acts are characterized by the eroticism and fertility of women, creation. The portraits are much more dramatic, they show different psychological states, which depict a cry, a cry, loneliness, anticipation, transience", said Ćetković to "Vijesta" before the presentation in front of the Belgrade art audience.
Born in 1975 in Kolašin, Ćetković has been living and creating in Sutomore for many years, where he is employed at the elementary school "Kekec" as an art teacher. He graduated in painting at the FLU in Cetinje, in the class of professor Nikola Gvozdenović. He is the winner of the annual prize of the gallery "Spinaker" at the exhibition of students of the final year of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and the prize for painting of the ULUCG "Milunović, Stijović, Lubarda" for 2016 as chosen by the international jury for the painting "Philosopher". The exhibition in Belgrade is his 22nd solo exhibition, and he exhibited at a large number of group exhibitions in the country and abroad.
"Ćetković is undoubtedly one of the most expressive and convincing expressionists of contemporary Montenegrin painting and the creator of an exceptional artistic sensibility, but also a human being who, with his paintings, draws attention to the lonely man of today who has lost his identity and soul in a world ruled by the principles of social alienation and ethical indifference", art historian Ljiljana Zeković wrote about Goran's paintings.
The previous 2016 was a year of full affirmation for Ćetković, both through a professional award and through four independent exhibitions, and when asked by "Vijesti" how he plans to continue the successful series, the artist said that in this light the exhibition in Belgrade is very important.
"This is my first solo exhibition in 2017. It's certainly a sweet pain to continue what happened to me in 2016. In any case, I'm very glad that I have the opportunity to present myself to the Belgrade art audience in this ULUPUDS gallery, it's for me very significantly. I emphasize that the exhibition is accompanied by a catalog with texts by Ljiljana Zeković and Lucija Đurašković", added Ćetković.
