The exhibition of the academic painter Mihailo Jovićević, organized by the Podgorica Museums and Galleries, will be opened tonight in the Modern Gallery at 19 p.m.
The symbol represents one of the backbones of Jovićević's creativity. Considering the uniqueness and polyvalence of the symbol, it points us to the artist's need to maintain distance, exceptionality, secrecy and indeterminacy in his message. Using a symbol, the creator distorts rational reality. It plunges into the depths of consciousness where objective meanings do not exist, opening the way to the immeasurable depths of the original and infinite. The path to that instinctive recognition, to the sacred center that cannot be fully encompassed by either a picture or a word. The symbol here integrates all the unsolicited concepts of the world and transforms them into the most noble artistic expressions", wrote Selma Đečević, the author of the exhibition, about Jovićević's work.
The Jovićević exhibition in the Modern Gallery will be opened by the publicist and writer Marko Špadijer.
