With the promotion of the collection of documents "District Committee of the KPJ Nikšić in NOR 1941-1945", which was released a few days ago, the March repertoire of the Support Program for Cultural Development in Nikšić begins. The promotion of the collection, published by the State Archives of Montenegro, will be held tonight at 19 pm in Technopolis.
According to Violeta Krivokapić, head of the Nikšić Archive Department, due to the volume of historical documents, the collection will be published as a two-volume edition. The first book contains documents about wartime events in Nikšić from 1941 until the capitulation of Italy in September 1943, while the second book will contain documents from 1943 to 1945.
According to Kristina Radović, art historian, the March repertoire will also be varied, so the audience will have the opportunity to attend literary evenings, the "Legends" concert, the Podgorica choir "Stanko Dragojević" and the klapa "Alata" and "Assa voce", as well as to watch films "Biser Bojane", "Macbeth" and "Song 'e Napule". The plays "Frankie and Johnny", "Greet someone", poetry theater "Night of the Gathering of the Ages" will also be performed, while the youngest will enjoy the circus masters and the plays "The House That Couldn't Bark" and "Fun Clowns".
The director of the "Dara Čokorilo" Music School, Vjera Vuković, said that the high school students are preparing the concert "I ovo smo mi" for February 23.
"In the first part of the concert, the students will present works of classical music, while the second part is reserved for the most popular works of Latin music, film, pop and jazz," said Vuković.
According to Radoš Šućur, the vice-president of the Municipality, the March repertoire is the announcement of another rich annual repertoire, and in the following days the contract between the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality on the program for 2017 should be signed.
"It is obvious that Nikšić has an audience for all kinds of cultural events, and we will continue to develop that. The theater hall, with about 450 seats, is the right measure for Nikšić", said Šućur. This year, work will continue on the restoration of cultural and historical buildings. Work continued on the Roman bridge on Moštanica, the oldest in the country, and work began on the stone bridge on Dukla, built in 1807 by the rich Turkish merchant Hadži Ismail Mehmednikić. Conservation works are in progress at the Castle of King Nikola.
