The directors of eight Podgorica companies were arrested on suspicion of evading around one million euros in taxes, the police and prosecutor's office announced.

The director of the company "Viktorija M", Mirko Vukašinović, is suspected by the prosecution of embezzling 2015 euros from 2016 to 430.603.

Zlatko Topalović from the Podgorica company "Fruit MN" is suspected of having provided false information about legally acquired income in the period from 2015 to 2016, not declaring legally acquired income and concealing data, whereby the company obtained illegal property benefits in the amount of 93 990,07 euros and damaged the budget of Montenegro for the same amount.

Branko Bošković, director of the Podgorica company "Majlo", is suspected of tax evasion of 123.888 euros.

"VT Group" DOO Podgorica and Ivica Vojinović are suspected of evading 143.851 euros, while the company "Fresh & Healthy" and its director Ivan Radonjić are suspected of evading 2015 euros in taxes in 165.555.

Dragan Popović, the person in charge of the company "Zeta Fruit", is suspected of embezzling 2015 euros in 11.762.

"Zeta Trade" and Igor Andušić are suspected of embezzling 30.621 euros, while Veselin Vujačić, director of "VD Fruit" from Podgorica, is suspected of having damaged the state for 3.654 euros.

"According to the order of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, 8 persons were deprived of their liberty for the criminal offense of tax evasion and contribution. It is suspected that these persons, as executive directors, committed tax evasion in the period from 2014 to 2016 and damaged budget, for the total amount of EUR 902. Along with the criminal complaint, the persons were taken into custody and their hearings are ongoing," the announcement states.
