The investigating judge of the Podgorica High Court, Vladimir Novović, ordered seven people from Nikšić to be detained for up to 30 days. who were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of dealing drugs in that city.
Alleged members of the "iron" criminal group Martin Janjušević (29), Darko Ćetković (34), Samir Jaganjac (34), Aleksandar Samardžić (33), Nikola Damjanović (33), Nikola Vučeljić (23) and Davor Perunović (33) in custody were sent because of the risk of flight, possible influence on witnesses, and the risk of repeating the criminal act.
The people of Nikšić were arrested in the police operation "Paketić II", and the police and the prosecution suspect them of having committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.
The police officers failed to arrest Mijuško Matijašević (40), Luka Bulatović (24), Vuksan Kuveljić (25) and Miloš Bulajić (24).
Darko Ćetković's defense attorney, lawyer Mirko Bogićević, told "Vijesta" that his client exercised his right not to present a defense during the hearing at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office.
"Taking into account what is known to me so far as a defense attorney, I believe that at this moment there is not enough evidence to bring an indictment against him. Due to the fact that he has been convicted multiple times before, he was ordered to be detained due to the risk that he will not commit a criminal offense while at liberty , and this decision will definitely be appealed to the criminal panel of the Higher Court," said Bogićević.
The spokeswoman of the Police Administration, Tamara Popović, said after the arrest of the Nikšić residents that warrants had been issued for the four Nikšić residents.
The inspectors "hunted" the "iron men" for seven months, and yesterday morning they searched their apartments and houses at 16 locations in Nikšić.
The police action, which resulted in the filing of 11 criminal and 65 misdemeanor charges, is a continuation of the multi-month action "Paketić" in which inspectors filed nine criminal and 21 misdemeanor charges on December 2016, 27.
"In these two operations, out of a total of 90 seizures, 63 in this and 27 in the previous operation, half a kilogram of marijuana, 50 grams of heroin and 20 grams of cocaine were seized, which were packed in hundreds of packets," Popović said on Tuesday.
She explained that the action was carried out by officers of the Anti-Drug Department, in cooperation with colleagues from the Nikšić Security Center, with the support of the Special Police Unit.
