The exhibition of one of the most popular and influential British artists of the XNUMXth century, David Hockney, which will open on February XNUMX at London's Tate Britain Museum, is announced as the most comprehensive retrospective of that painter, designer and photographer, and will also present some of his latest works.
As pointed out in the announcement, the exhibition for the first time brings in one place some of the most famous works of that artist, one of the key names of pop art in the 60s of the last century, created during six decades of his artistic activity.
David Hockney, who celebrates his 80th birthday this year, continues to change styles and ways of working, constantly adopting new technologies and approaches. From his depictions of Los Angeles swimming pools, to drawings and photography, Yorkshire landscapes and his latest paintings, some of which have never been shown to the public before, the exhibition will show how each new direction in Hockney's work arose from what came before it.
The exhibition is jointly organized by Tate Britain, Paris' Center Pompidou and New York's Metropolitan, and will be open until May 29.
