The gaming national team of Montenegro will play in the final UEFA Eeuro tournament for the second year in a row. The e-selection of the Electronic Sports Association of Montenegro (SESCG) and the Football Association of Montenegro, Vučeta Šćepanović (ArtiePG) and Rade Pavićević (_r_a_d_e_) won first place in group D of the eEURO 2021 qualification.
With a total of seven wins and a draw, they will find themselves on July 9 and 10 at Wembley, in the company of the 16 best European national teams in the Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) game. The group draw for the championship will take place at the end of May.
UEFA eEURO 2021 is the most prestigious eFootball PES 2021 competition in Europe, with a prize fund of 100 thousand euros. Ten groups of five or six national teams competed in two rounds, during March and April, in the qualifiers for the championship. Each match between two national teams consists of two 1 on 1 duels. The winners of each group are directly placed in the tournament, while the second-placed countries will have to go to the playoffs.
Last month, the Montenegrin national team came out victorious in all four matches, while in the second part of the tournament they beat all national teams except Austria, with whom they played to a draw (2:2). Last year, the Montenegrin national team won ninth place at the final tournament, and they hope to go one step further this time.
"We expected first place because we prepared very well, but it was not easy at all. All of them are strong national teams, but we managed to win first place almost dominantly and qualify directly for the European Championship. It is certain that we will prepare even better until July, and then we will go step by step, it will also depend on the strength of the opponents in the group, although there will not be weak teams there. For a start, let it be a better ranking than last year, and then who knows, maybe one of the first three places", assessed Pavićević.
