The first eFest, the biggest Sci-Tech & Gaming event, which took place in Montenegro from September 7 to 9, was ceremonially closed last night with the awarding of prizes to the best gamers.
At the European Championship in e-football, whose prize fund was 10.000 euros, the first place was won by Marko Roksić from Serbia, the second position was taken by Sevimil Mucahit from Turkey, while the bronze was shared by David Garevski from North Macedonia and Danijel Orel from Israel.
The awards were presented to them by the representative of the European Esports Federation, Ido Broš.
During the past three days, according to the president of the Electronic Sports Association of Montenegro, Filip Šoć, over 5.000 people visited the Bemax arena in Podgorica.
"Phenomenal atmosphere. More than we expected. The European e-football championship went great. An even bigger surprise were the mini-tournaments with a prize fund worth over 5.000 euros where over 1.000 competitors from Montenegro registered. On the first day, we were visited by almost 2.000 people, and the second 3.000. Today, on the third day, there is a little less crowd, but there are a large number of children and parents. We promise that from now on we will bring a strong world competition to Montenegro every year," said Šoć, and at the same time reminded that the secretary of the World Gaming Federation and the president of the Adria e-sport federation, Boban Totovski, visited the event and expressed his satisfaction with the excellent organization.
The winner of the gold medal at the European Championship in e-football, in which 26 countries participated, Marko Roksić, did not hide his elation at the award he won.
"I am delighted with the tournament, the organization and of course the victory. It was difficult. There are a lot of good players here, professionals, who play in the first league. I think that I was slightly better and that I was a little more lucky than the others," said the gamer from Serbia.
Second-placed Sevimil Mucahit also congratulated Roksić on his victory.
"It was a great final. Congratulations to the winner. I think I could have played better, but if we consider that this is a high-category tournament, I'm proud to have won second place. I met some old friends, met some new ones. Like I'm in Montenegro and I hope to see you soon."
Danijel Orel, who took the third position, also hopes for better success next year.
"This was a great event. The best players in the world participated. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the finals, but maybe next year," said the Israeli.
For his colleague from the podium, the third place is a record.
"I am satisfied. Third place is my best success on the international stage. I would like to congratulate the Union of Electronic Sports of Montenegro for the great organization of the tournament and festival," said David Garevski.
In addition to the competitive part of the program, visitors had the opportunity to enjoy the exhibition-interactive character of the stands, which offered the latest technological achievements, not only from the world, but from Montenegro.
All this was completed by the fascinating exhibition of transformers by the author Danilo Baletić, as well as the entertainment and music program "Fešta", in which popular domestic and foreign DJs performed, in a specially designed futuristic environment.
