In the dynamic world of esports, where skill and dedication rule, Montenegro has produced its fair share of talented players. Among them is Ildiar Scorpion Demirović, who has made a name for himself both nationally and internationally. From representing his country to competing in renowned tournaments, Ildiar's journey has been marked by determination, success and a drive for constant improvement.
Competing on the global stage
As a former representative of the Montenegrin CS:GO team, Scorpioon recently showed his skills together with the "Amigos" team, with whom he performed at the national qualifiers for the World Championship, which will be held this year in the city of Iași, Romania.
Although they narrowly missed out on a spot in the main event, Ildiar attributes their success against great opponents like “Sova Gaming” to their exceptional team chemistry. About how they felt after that defeat, given that he lost to his former teammates from the last World Cup in Bali, he answers:
"I think the Sova Gaming team had a lot of better individual players than us, and what pushed us to that result where we narrowly beat them was our chemistry. I regret that this year I could not wear the jersey of Montenegro at the upcoming regional qualifications, but it is also an incentive for me to further progress and prepare for the next competitions, both at the national and international level.
Right now I'm focusing on my individual game because that's the best way I can improve it. My goal is to enter FPL-C (Faceit Pro League Challenger). Also, a new version of Counter Strike is coming out soon and I'm more than excited to show off my skills in the new title
As the second-placed and currently the best student team in Montenegro, he played with the Amigos at the Faceit collegiate tournament, where they achieved significant success and placed in the first eight teams. Scorpion reflected on that tournament, but also commented on the match against the Romanian national team, which they lost "by a hair" and thus missed the opportunity to place in the first four teams:
“The tournament was pretty good overall. Romania had a strong team and we had our chances to win in the end. "Unfortunately, we made some key mistakes that cost us important rounds and thus we missed the opportunity for the biggest individual success so far, as well as our country's success in this kind of competition," the gamer admitted.
New chapter
After a successful season, Scorpion made the decision to part ways with his former team, Klan rur. Reflecting on his departure, Scorpion explains that he felt his style of play and team dynamics were not aligned. Despite this, he has nothing but respect for his former team, acknowledging them as one of the best organizations he was a part of.
"I left Clan Ruhr because I didn't fit into the team, and they didn't fit into my game. I realized that I can contribute more to another team when I leave. Klan Ruhr is one of the best organizations I've been in so far and I have nothing but good words for them," Scorpion is honest.
A focused path
Currently, Scorpion's primary focus lies on his individual progress in the CS:GO title. Instead of rushing to join a new team, he aims to hone his skills and improve his game. His immediate goal is to enter the prestigious Faceit Pro League Challenger (FPL-C), a highly competitive platform that showcases top talent.
"Right now I'm focusing on my individual game because that's the best way I can improve it. My goal is to enter FPL-C (Faceit Pro League Challenger). Besides, a new version of Counter Strike is coming out soon and I'm more than excited to show off my skills in the new title,” he points out.
A promising future
Looking ahead, the CS:GO national team of Montenegro is preparing for the upcoming regional qualifiers for the World Championship in Romania. Scorpion expresses confidence in the team's chances of securing a favorable placement, provided they devote themselves to training after a successful qualification.
The opponents of the Montenegrin national team at the upcoming regional qualifiers for the World Cup in Romania are known, and the interlocutor of "Magazin" commented on the chances of our national team to achieve a good placement:
"I think that, if our boys trained after the national qualifications, they have a good chance to qualify for Jaši. It is a group of exceptional individuals who have great experience, both at the national and international level, and their great desire to achieve notable successes under the auspices of the Montenegrin flag should not be ignored either. It won't be easy, but I, like every other CS:GO player in Montenegro, will cheer for our boys", promises Demirović.
