Gamers Rade Pavićević i Dina Krnić will represent Montenegro at the European Championship in e-Sports, which will be held from June 28 to July 3 in the Polish city of Katowice.
Rade is already well known to fans of the simulation of the most important thing in the world of e-Football, as he has already represented Montenegro in numerous competitions, while this will be Dina's first time in this title. Namely, Dina is a member of the women's CS:GO national team, which at the qualifying tournament failed to secure participation in the World Championship, which will be held in Iasi at the end of August.
"In the men's category, 32 European national teams are participating, while in the women's category we have a smaller number of competitors, so there will be a total of eight of them. In addition to the e-Football competition, a Rocket Leauge 3x3 competition will also be organized. This competition is organized in cooperation with the European Olympic Committee and the Global e Sports Federation GEF. In addition to the e-Sports event, the players will enjoy the beauty of Katowice and Krakow and will attend the closing ceremony of the European Olympic Games in Krakow on July 2," Filip Šoć, president of the Electronic Sports Association of Montenegro, told the News.
She notes that after the tournament in Katovice, Montenegrin gamers will have a hot summer with many activities.
"First, Montenegro will host the Adria conference, which will be attended by eight countries of the region, the president of the European Federation EEF Thiago Fernandes, secretary of the world federation IESF Boban Totovski who will enjoy the beauty of Montenegro for five days and get to know its potential as a boot camp and gaming tourist destination. After that, we are waiting for Iași and the World Championship in Romania, whose prize fund is 500.000 euros. Over 1500 competitors from 140 countries of the world come to this championship", reveals Šoć of the activities and adds that it is at these events that, as the president of the Electronic Sports Association of Montenegro and the director of the Adria Federation, he will have several meetings that will be important for the development of e-Sproto in Montenegro and the region.
As someone who has already had the opportunity to be at major competitions, Montenegrin e-footballer Rade Pavićević knows what awaits him during the competition.
"According to all expectations, the tournament will be very strong. Many professional players will be representing their countries, so the competition is sure to be very strong. As for expectations, it's hard to say, it won't be played on standard consoles, but on PC, so there was very little room for preparation. Certainly, as always, I will do my best to present my country in the best possible way", promises Rade, who last weekend also participated in the tournament organized by the Electronic Sports Association in the Gaming Hub.
"Something that helped me in my preparation was the tournament held in the Gaming hub last weekend, where our best players participated and it certainly raised my level of play," Pavićević is sure.
Unlike him, this will be Dina's first major competition.
"Since I was a child, games somehow permeated my life, but they never reached a more serious level than they do now. I was preparing with the team for the qualifiers for the world championship in Romania, in canter (CS:GO), which unfortunately we did not win participation. We had very strong competition, but I am very proud of my team, where we played three matches fighting to the end and maintaining positive energy in the team. I am someone who has the least experience in the CS:GO game, but with them everything was easier for me, because every day they accompanied me, supported me and taught me down to the smallest details. They are real Montenegrin lionesses and I thank them for their immense support", Dina recalled the period when she was a CS:GO player as a member of the national team, and according to her, she does not plan to give up this title.
"We will prepare even harder for next year and hope for a better ranking", promises the gamer.
In addition to the canter, she was also preparing for the European Championship in Poland.
"Well, this is a feeling I can't describe. Representing my country for the first time in this discipline is a great honor for me. With the great excitement and energy of Rada Pavićević, who is my coach, we arrived in Katovice and we hope for the best possible placement. I give great thanks to the Federation of Electronic Sports, led by Filip Šoć, who does all this with his heart and fights to make our country heard all over Europe and the world. He is someone from whom all this started, and I thank him for the chance he provides to gamers," said Dina.
Montenegrin gamers will play their first matches today, and they will be broadcast on Youtube and the TV channel of MNE Sport.
