Delegates and players attended the closing ceremony in Krakow which was spectacular. We hope that we can expect gaming at the Olympic Games in Paris as a preparatory sport, and in 2028 as a new Olympic sport.
Montenegro had two representatives in the men's and women's competition in efootball. Our national team member Rade Pavicevic lost in the 1/4 finals of the winner's bracket and finished in 9th place, and our national team member Dina Krnic in 5th place.
"Generally speaking, the quarter-final is not a bad result, but I think I could have given a lot more. I just didn't time my form at the right time, so there is a lot of reserve for a better game." Rade said. Dina spoke about gaming in the women's category: "I'm sure that more women will be interested in gaming, because I can say this is a great advertisement that shows that women can really be part of esports and achieve results."
Our delegation also attended the closing of the European Games in Krakow, and in front of it Union of Electronic Sports of Montenegro were Filip Šoć and Nađa Rajković. "This is a big step forward for the entire Montenegrin gaming family. Because we have a situation where gaming appeared for the first time as part of the European Olympic Games, and this is a sign of how much influence this industry has on sports, and an announcement that we can soon expect it as a preparatory sport at world olympic games.
France has already hosted the biggest League of Legends competition and a major in CS:GO, it is planned that DOTA 2 international will be held in France next year and it is planned that gaming will be included as a preparatory sport as part of the Olympic Games in Paris," said Filip Šoć.
