The best e-Football players gathered last weekend in the Ivangrad gaming house and tested their strength in a simulation of the most important side event in the world.
More than 20 players participated in the tournament, including representatives of Montenegro Rade Pavićević who represented our country at the recently held European Games in Katowice, as well as Bojan Tatar who will represent Montenegro at the upcoming WC organized by the IESF in Iasi.
Although they showed an enviable level of play on the virtual field, the role of favorites in this tournament was justified by last year's winner of the European Championship held in Podgorica, Serbian e-footballer and national team member Marko Roksić Roksa. As a reward for winning another tournament in Montenegro, Roksa returned from Beran with a cash prize of 500 euros.
In the final, Roksa faced the striker of the club efc Budućnosti Boris Bajović.
"Even though they assigned me the role of favorite from the start, I didn't accept it, because for the last two months I haven't been able to play e-Football and to be honest, I didn't even expect to win, especially since I knew that Montenegrin players play a lot, train regularly . However, I still managed to do the tournament properly," he told Vijesti Roks after the victory in Berane, who will represent Serbia at the WC in Iasi, which starts at the end of the week.
"One of the reasons I decided to come to the tournament is precisely because the balance mode is being played and it will be a good preparation for Jaši, which is in a few days. I expect a lot from this championship, even though I haven't trained, because I want to improve the impression from the last WC, which was held in Bali", reveals Roksa.
Last year in Bali, he reached the quarter-finals, so that experience will be important for the tactics he is preparing for Iasi.
"I decided to go back to the old tactics with three players at the back, one rear midfielder, four in the middle and two strikers offensively and defensively so to speak. I'll try to see this tactic through to the end, come what may. My goal, as I said, is to improve the impression from last year's WC and to be at least in the TOP3, and I secretly hope for the first place as well", Roks does not hide his expectations.
It is no secret that tournaments like this one in Berane always bring new acquaintances and good company
"Thanks to gaming, I have made some lifelong friendships. I'm sorry that Arti wasn't there, with whom I have a great relationship, but Bojan, Rade and the rest of the team were there, that's why I will always respond and participate in such tournaments, both in terms of socializing and in terms of playing. At the same time, I wanted to give them the opportunity to beat me, because so far none of them have managed to do it", concludes Roksa.
