Call of Duty is a popular first-person video game franchise. The first edition of the series, which came out in 2003, was set in the Second World War, while more recent editions move to modern and futuristic warfare. The franchise is known for its campaigns, striking characters and popular multiplayer mode. Call of Duty is one of the most successful franchises in the world. We can see this from the statistics of COD: Modern Warfare 3, which achieved a record profit of over a billion dollars in the first 16 days of its release, surpassing Harry Potter and Avatar.
Activision announced a new Call of Duty series called Call of Duty Black Ops 6. The trailer first saw the light of day in May this year, and we can expect more information on June 9.
For now, we are not able to see any gameplay (clip from the game). Activision released a so-called live-action trailer (something like a short film) as an announcement for the game, which includes a number of world leaders such as Bill Clinton, George HW Bush, Margaret Thatcher and Saddam Hussein.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is the successor to Black Ops Cold War which is set in the Cold War period. This is not the first time that Activision touches on the subject of the Cold War, nuclear weapons and the battle between the United States of America and the Soviet Union.
Trailer - what can we expect?
In the dynamic black and white movie trailer for Black Ops 6, called "The Truth Lies", we can see world leaders. The story boils down to questioning the truth the government is telling. The first sentence by Bill Clinton is exactly:
"The truth is... your whole life is a lie."
We can say that the Call of Duty Black Ops series is once again returning to controversial topics, and this time it has raised the bar of what is possible by including some of the historical figures as part of the promotion. The series is known for allowing players to explore different continents and time periods. And this time, according to the first statements, the place of action is during the Gulf War (Gulf War) in the early nineties of the last century.
Zombie mode is back again?
In addition to the spectacular campaign that players go through, this time, according to speculation, Zombie Mode awaits us. This game mode is well known to COD players and consists of defending your base from incoming zombies.
Try to bring back the old players
Microsoft, which is also in charge of promoting the game on its Xbox and Windows platforms, is participating in creating euphoria about this game. They're playing it safe this time, so we get to see the old concept art back in place, so we have familiar characters and promotional material in this installment of the Black Ops franchise. What is certain is that Activision and the entire team are working hard to release a game worthy of its title. After all, Microsoft certainly wouldn't promote something that doesn't have a good foundation.

In addition to the movie trailer, players also received an interesting short video in vlog format. This promotional video shows the vandalized 'Mount Rushmore', where the faces of some of America's most famous former presidents are carved (George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt i Abraham Lincoln) covered with the inscription "The Truth Lies".
Ecosystem, cosmetics and COD HQ
COD HQ is an application, that is, a platform that combines several COD games. It was released in 2019 together with the Call of Duty Modern Ware trio. The goal was to create an immediate ecosystem where players will be able to download the game, update it and change some parameters. Additionally, a cosmetics ecosystem is built in that allows players to purchase in-game skins. On the official page of the Steam platform, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 has been placed in the category "DLC" (additional content), which most likely means that it will be integrated into COD HQ. The good side of this, according to the gaming community on portals and forums, is that they will be able to transfer their skins to this edition of the game.
Compared to the COD HQ app, gamers hope that the gigabyte size of the game will be acceptable to more players. However, the fact is that the COD series is demanding to download - especially several previous titles like Black Ops Cold War which require over 175 gigabytes just to download. If we look and make a comparison with the Call of Duty four, which requires a total of eight gigabytes of memory, we can say that the size of one game in the COD series has increased exponentially.
Is it worth the euphoria?
The backstory of the game is not the latest, but it is fresh. From the trailer, we can see that it is about a slightly darker side of war. Fans of the COD franchise are eagerly awaiting June 6th, when additional information should appear. Earlier this week, Microsoft confirmed that Black Ops XNUMX will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This means that subscribers to Microsoft's Game Pass will not need to purchase the game.
