The video game "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" comes out next week, and according to early reviews, it lives up to the legacy of the film series, which is set between the events of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981) and "The Last Crusade" (1989).
In a five-star review, Eurogamer praised the "wonderful locations" that the main story visits and the colorful cast of characters that the protagonist meets during his adventure.
"This is on par with the best moments of Indiana Jones, whether on the small or big screen," Eurogamer points out.
"The Great Circle is an irresistible and immersive global treasure hunt for Indiana Jones fans who have felt neglected by films like 'Dial of Destiny' and 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,'" writes IGN's review.
"The Great Circle immediately ranks among the best Indiana Jones games ever, with a story closer to Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade than anything that came after," reads one review. Based on 46 reviews, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has a Metacritic score of 86/100.
Fans who pre-ordered the deluxe edition of the game also got early access, with the game officially releasing on December 9 for Xbox and PC, while the PlayStation version will launch next year.
