The national qualifications for the Phygital Games will be held from January 24th to 26th in Bar at the Topolica Sports Hall.

The revolutionary sports format, combining physical and digital elements, will feature four main disciplines: Phygital Football, Phygital Basketball, Phygital Shooter and Phygital Dance. This is a unique opportunity for local teams and individuals to compete for a place in the UAE qualifiers and eventual qualification to the World Championships.

Phygital Games represent a fusion of traditional sports and esports, where competitors face off in a combination of physical sports activities and digital games. The project is implemented thanks to the Electronic Sports Association of Montenegro, under the patronage of TO Bar and the Municipality of Bar.

"This format has become a global phenomenon, attracting the best athletes, gamers and audiences from all over the world. This year's World Championship in the UAE has a prize pool of an incredible $10 million, spread across ten disciplines, meaning each title carries a $16 million prize pool. The best teams from Montenegro will fight to secure a place in the UAE qualifiers, while the top XNUMX teams from those qualifiers will advance to the World Championship," the Montenegrin Electronic Sports Federation said in a statement.

The competitions will be held in two segments - a digital and a live part. Thus, the teams that will play the FIFA title on the field in the futsal 5-on-5 hall. After the NBA title, the competitors in this category will try their hand at 2-on-2 basketball, while the Kantera players will show off their skills playing Laser Tag live after playing games on one of the maps in the CS2 video game.

Dance enthusiasts will first show off their dancing skills in the Just Dance 2024 game, and then perform their dance choreographies live. Cash prizes will be awarded to the best teams.

"This is the first year that Montenegro will be part of the global Phygital community. The national qualifiers not only provide an opportunity for local competitors to showcase their skills, but also position Montenegro as a key player in the development of phygital sports. The organization of this event has a wide-ranging impact, from promoting tourism to strengthening the local e-sports community," said SESCG.
