The national qualifications for Phygital Gaming, a new sports format that combines physical and digital elements, providing a unique experience for competitors and audiences, began yesterday at the Topolica Sports Center in Bar and the Sova Gaming Center.
This revolutionary concept encompasses four main disciplines: Phygital Football, Phygital Basketball, Phygital Shooter and Phygital Dance. The best teams will compete over the coming days for the chance to join the best teams from around the world at the prestigious world championship to be held in the UAE.
The first day of the qualifiers was dynamic, and a treat for fans of e-sports and sports, especially the most important side hustle in the world - football, as well as one of the most beloved games of all generations - CS2. Namely, the competition took place in the disciplines of Phygital Football and Phygital Shooter.
The digital part of the competition in the Phygital Shooter discipline was held in the Sova gaming hall in Bar, and given that the winning teams achieved a 2:0 result in the digital segment, there was no need for additional proof in the physical part of the game, which would include Laser Tag. The competition was ongoing until the end of the games, and the teams Endfast PLS, Lasos, Sova Gaming and GSENSE passed the group stage.
An exciting combination of traditional football and the most popular simulation of the same - FC24 gathered the largest number of competitors who showed an enviable level of play both on the virtual and on the real field. The first team to secure a place in the semi-finals was perhaps one of the youngest, the Lamela team from Bar. One of the representatives of the team from the host city Luka Lekovic He admitted that they came to the competition with a lot of enthusiasm, convinced that they could represent Montenegro at the competition in the Emirates. They were getting ready, even though it was difficult to return to FC24.
"We've been playing FC25 for a long time, so it was inconvenient for us to go back to the previous version of the game. However, where we showed even better play and fitness was 5-on-5 football. As for the team, we easily got together, it was a month ago when we found out about this competition. We took this opportunity seriously, eager to take advantage of the home field, we practiced for a month. As for the game, there were no problems, considering that we've been playing together for a long time, but when it comes to futsal, we had several sessions a week, we practiced and we expect the maximum," Leković did not hide his expectations. Since e-sports are often contested, he is even more pleased by the fact that they finally got the opportunity to combine the two disciplines and show their skills both on the virtual and real field.
Today is the Phygital Football final, after which competitors from the Phygital Basketball segment will show off their skills.
However, the Electronic Sports Association, together with its partners TO and the Municipality of Bar, yesterday, in addition to Phygital Gaming, launched a Game Jam at the Soto Hotel in Sutomore, which will also end on Sunday evening with a presentation of video games created in 48 hours on the theme "Bubble".
