Superhero stories continue to attract a lot of attention, and new games and movies are constantly arriving.
Every year, a slew of new content is released, from Marvel movie sequels to DC TV series, and then there are video games. The superhero gaming offering is diverse, from shooters like Marvel Rivals to mobile team-based combat games like DC World Collide. Last year also brought disappointing news about the cancellation of several titles, including Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman and EA's Black Panther. However, 2026 will bring several new Marvel and DC games for fans to look forward to.
While some big projects have been canceled this year, superhero game fans will have a few new titles to play next year. The current lineup mostly includes Marvel licenses, but DC fans can expect at least one confirmed game. The lineup will include a mix of fighting games, single-player adventures, and even a LEGO spin-off. These are all Marvel and DC games confirmed for release in 2026. None of the games currently have an exact release date, but they are listed in roughly the order of their expected debut.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra lets players take on the roles of not one, but two legendary Marvel heroes - Black Panther and Captain America - as they team up against Hydra. The game is being developed by Skydance New Media and will be the studio's first Marvel game.
Details about the game are still limited, and it was originally planned for 2025. The release date has since been pushed back to early 2026, making this the first major superhero title of the year. Platforms have not yet been confirmed, but it is expected to be playable on both PC and consoles.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
While many DC games have had mixed success over the years, Batman has always had some of the best video game adaptations. A fourth LEGO Batman title was recently revealed - LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, which takes players through the events of several famous Batman films, with mechanics inspired by the Arkham games.
Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, and LEGO have confirmed the game will be released in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Given the level of detail in the trailer, a delay seems unlikely.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
PS5 players were recently able to try out the closed beta of a new Marvel game - Marvel Token: Fighting Souls, a tag-team superhero fighting game. While the game showed off a lot of things in 2025, it's not coming out until next year.
The game offers an impressive roster of characters and plenty of gameplay elements, with a comic-inspired style, ideal for fans of arcade beat 'em up games. A release date has not yet been confirmed, but is expected for PC and PS5.
Marvel's Wolverine
After a long period of silence, a new trailer for Marvel's Wolverine from Insomniac Games showed off the adamantium (a fictional metal from the comics) action in full force, sparking excitement among fans. A release date has not been set, but it will likely hit the market sometime in the fall of 2026.
Players will take on the role of Wolverine in various superhero situations, with other X-Men characters also confirmed. Marvel's Wolverine will initially be a PlayStation exclusive for PS5.
For now, these are the only Marvel and DC games confirmed for release next year. It's possible that more projects will appear throughout the year. Still, superhero fans have these four titles to look forward to in the coming year.
