"GTA 6" fans questioned by police after visiting Rockstar headquarters

Several fans of the "Grand Theft Auto" series were questioned by police after they tried to approach Rockstar Games' headquarters in Edinburgh.

The YouTuber known as UberGaming traveled to Glasgow last month and stayed at a hotel across the street from the offices of Rockstar North, the development team currently working on "Grand Theft Auto VI."

On May 26, the date that "GTA 6" was originally scheduled to be released before the delay, a group of fans entered the building to, as they said, "pay homage" to the game's canceled release date, NME magazine reports.

However, according to their claims, security forces kicked them out of the building in just a few seconds.

"Because we were so different from the others, the police arrived, took our information and asked us what we wanted," said UberGaming.

They were not arrested, but claim they were told that the police would contact them again if any information about "GTA 6" was leaked to the public.

"Now we have five-star wanted in real life," the YouTuber joked, alluding to the quest system from the "GTA" games.

Earlier this year, video game journalist Reese Riley said that some "GTA 6" fans were going to great lengths to obtain new information about the game.

"For years I've heard stories from Rockstar developers about fans trying to get hold of any information - from forging identification documents to using drones above windows to take photos or videos," he wrote on social media site X.

Rockstar recently fired several employees after accusing them of sharing confidential information with the public.

Back in 2022, a British teenager was arrested for hacking a company and releasing more than an hour of development footage from "GTA 6."

In April of this year, the company was the target of blackmail after hackers obtained a “limited amount” of employees’ personal data, but no material related to the game itself was released.

"Grand Theft Auto VI" is on track to become the most expensive video game ever made.

It is scheduled to be released on November 19, 13 years after the release of "Grand Theft Auto V."
