Epic Games has confirmed that "The Simpsons" will return to Fortnite this summer, following a highly successful crossover event in 2025.
The official "Fortnite X" account posted an image of a portal leading to Springfield, the Simpsons' hometown, on social media last night, with the message:
"Springfield Reloaded. Summer 2026. Yes, we think we're back."
"Fortnite Reload" is a "fast-paced" version of the popular "battle royale" game in which 40 players compete in teams.
"It's all about leading your team to victory," the game mode's description states.
"You can return to the game as long as at least one teammate is still in action. After returning, gather equipment to prepare for battle again. Eliminating opponents brings teammates back into the game faster. Towards the end of the match, the ability to return will be removed, so rely on your team to ensure victory," the description adds.
Epic Games has not yet confirmed when "Springfield Reloaded" will be available or what exactly this new "crossover" event will encompass, but fans are already excited.
Last year, Fortnite hosted a major crossover with The Simpsons, which included a special Springfield map, skins for Homer, Marge, and other characters, as well as special animated shorts inspired by The Simpsons.
