A new Kingdom Come adventure is coming

The Kingdom Come: Deliverance series could be getting a new chapter much sooner than fans expected. After the second part was released in early 2025, Warhorse Studios is already working on a new game in the medieval RPG series.

The first Kingdom Come: Deliverance came out in 2018 and attracted attention with its different approach to the genre. Instead of classic fantasy, the game takes players to a realistic 15th-century Bohemia, where there are no dragons, magic, or superhuman heroes. Combat, travel, economy, and daily life are modeled after the historical period, which has become one of the main features of the series.

A sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, was released in 2025 and continued the story of Henry, the son of a blacksmith who transforms from a simple young man into a warrior in the first game. The second installment brought a larger world, more exploration, and more complex systems, continuing the story of his adventures in medieval Bohemia.

Now, Warhorse Studios' parent company, Embracer, has revealed that the next game could arrive as early as their next fiscal year, i.e. between April 1, 2027 and March 31, 2028.

The information was also confirmed by Warhorse Studios' Director of Communications Tobias Stolz-Zviling during a recent community broadcast.

“If all goes well, the game is coming next fiscal year. That means you won't have to wait seven years for a new Kingdom Come. That's good!” he said.

It is not yet known whether the new game will directly continue the story of the first two parts. What has been confirmed is that it will once again be an open-world RPG.

While details are still unknown, the fact that Warhorse is already working on a new title suggests that the studio is looking to capitalize on the success of the second installment and continue the series' development. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II further solidified the franchise's reputation among RPG fans, particularly thanks to its large open world, detailed depiction of medieval life, and a system in which player decisions can significantly impact the course of the story.

Warhorse isn't just working on one big project, though. The studio is also developing a new game set in the Lord of the Rings universe, which has been confirmed to be an open-world RPG. Studio head Daniel Vavra previously stepped down from that role to focus on the film adaptation of "Kingdom Come: Deliverance."

There is currently no official release date or story details for the new game in the series, but if the announced period is met, fans won't have to wait long for a new journey through the medieval world.
