Fans of the series "Hannibal" are still hoping that it will continue, but the star of this series Mads Mikkelsen will not do a half-hearted job.
The famous Danish actor, who is currently promoting his new dark comedy "Men & Chicken", told "Digital Spy" that a film that would eventually continue the story of the series would not satisfy either him or the fans.
"I won't say no to anything, but I think TV is the right medium for the story of 'Hannibal.' It's not a movie thing, it's not a story you can tell in an hour and a half. Because of the time we had at our disposal, we were able to go slowly, to reveal our spirits a little bit, and I like that, I think that's why it's interesting and dramatic to watch the series. Of course, it would be easy to make an interesting film as well, but I think that the medium we initially chose is perfect for what we do," explained the actor.
Mikkelsen, who won legions of fans with his portrayal of the psychotic killer Hannibal Lecter, said he would do everything in his power to revive the series.
“This is a series we couldn't do without its creator Bryan Fuller, he's the mastermind behind the whole thing, a genius. If one day he says he's found a TV company that wants to continue working on the series, I'm sure the rest of us would do everything we can to be a part of it, because we really enjoyed working on it. But we'll see what happens," said the actor.
"Hannibal" was terminated after three seasons, and the finale of the series in the form of the episode "The Wrath of the Lamb" did not bring the conclusion of the story of Hannibal and Will Graham.
Mikkelsen said, however, that he is satisfied with the end of the series, in case it does not continue.
"You could say that somewhere in the subconscious we had the whole fourth season, which would be completely crazy. But Brian was always smart enough to end the seasons as if they were the last, so I would be satisfied with this ending, yes," the actor pointed out.
