One of the greatest Serbian actresses, Milena Dravić, died tonight in the Bežanijska Kosa Clinical Hospital Center at the age of 79, after a long illness, Belgrade media reported. She acted in more than 100 films and played 20 theater roles, many of which won multiple awards. Her most famous roles were in the films "The Goat", "The Love Life of Budimir Trajković", "Temporary Work", "My Dad for a Certain Time", "Sekula Se Opet Zeni", "It's Not Easy with Men", "Zona Zamfirova". .
She is also known as a teacher from the cult series "Stories from Untold", Vera from "Policeman from Rooster Hill", then as Vukosava Petrović and Spomenka from the TV comedies "Pozorište u kuci" and "Crazy, Confused, Normal". From 1972 to 1974, she hosted the popular show program "Face to Face" with her third husband and colleague Dragan Nikolić.
Milena Dravić often played single mothers, peasants, women from the working class, she was a pioneer and an eccentric heroine of Black Wave films, and she owes a large part of her career success to the romantic comedies in which she starred alongside Ljubiša Samardžić. In this region, she is the only winner of the acting award at the prestigious Cannes Festival, which went to her for her role in the film "Special Treatment" by Goran Paskaljević based on the script by Duško Kovačević. She is the winner of the "Golden Rose" special award at the Venice Film Festival, the most prestigious Serbian awards Dobričin prsten and "Žanka Stokić" for her overall contribution to Yugoslav and Serbian cinematography, the "Joakim Vujić" award, the "Pavle Vuisić" award at Film Meetings in Niš.
She won four "Golden Awards" at the Days of Comedy in Jagodina and even a record ten Golden Arenas at the Film Festival in Pula, which is why she is considered the biggest star in the history of Serbian and Yugoslav cinematography. She was born on October 5, 1940 in Belgrade, on Dorćol, opposite the church of St. Alexander Nevsky. She attended the primary school "Janko Veselinović" in Dušanova Street, and then the First Boys' Gymnasium.

Actress Milena Dravić will be buried in the Alley of meritorious citizens in Belgrade, next to her ten-year partner in professional and private life, Dragan Gaga Nikolić, the Belgrade Assembly announced.
The place and time of the commemoration will be announced later by the Association of Film Actors of Serbia, the statement added.
