The face that viewers of Dnevnik on Television Vijesti trust is Adnan Prekić. He has been engaged in journalism for nine years, and it all started at Radio Montenegro. After that, he became an intern at Television Vijesti, then a journalist, and then an editor. Prekić talks to Puls about challenges, engagement at the Faculty of Philosophy, unpleasantness at work and love for what he does.

"The biggest advantage of this job is that no day can be the same as the previous one. Each new Diary is a story in itself, with different topics, people and a focus on certain stories. Of course, the fact that you have to look at everything possible is difficult and impossible sources of information, to assess what is important and what is not, but one gets used to all that over time. The fact that you go to work with a smile on your face because you know that something new will happen is enough to make you forget about all the difficulties," he says for Puls Adnan Prekić and his story about the responsibilities that journalism carries.

"For me, trust is the first association for responsibility, more precisely the trust of viewers. Television Vijesti has managed to establish itself as a medium in which viewers have the most trust. They expect everything they hear to be accurate, fast, measured and new. That is the most difficult part of the job , but also the most grateful because you know that people trust you and that what you publish means something to them. This requires additional questioning, caution and searching for the right angle from which to look at the problems you cover in the news," explains the journalist.

Although he is known to everyone as the editor and presenter of Dnevnik on Television Vijesti, Prekić also has another job - he is an assistant at the Faculty of Philosophy.

Although he is known to everyone as the editor and presenter of Dnevnik on Television Vijesti, Prekić also has another job. He is an assistant at the Faculty of Philosophy, Department of History. He especially likes that job, because he trained for it.

"In addition, it is a job that leaves room for creativity in working with students, but also a critical attitude towards the past. If you do not understand the past, you have little chance in the present and the future. The whole society can benefit from understanding the past, and for me, history is helped in journalism as well because the doctoral thesis I am finishing deals with political ideas and ideologies in Montenegro. Those experiences and how they can help you in journalism," said Prekić.

He started as a journalist on the radio and he remembers it very fondly.

"It is, I must admit, my favorite medium and I learned the most important lessons in journalism on the radio. By the way, I think radio is the best medium to start with because it requires focus, brevity and speed, which is very important in modern journalism. After three and a half years at Radio Montenegro, an invitation came from Television Vijesti, which had just been founded. I was there, one of the first, and I was part of that story from the very beginning," says Prekić.

He believes that he received an invaluable gift from journalism - meeting different people.

"It's simply incredible what kind of people you come across while preparing stories, researching or meeting them by chance. This is one of the biggest advantages of this job because it gives you the opportunity to learn and expand your experiences every day," said Adnan Prekić.

He admits that he is regularly recognized on the street, but he has already gotten used to it.

"I think it's an integral part of every public job. You think about these things when you start working, and then you don't pay attention to them. There were a lot of interesting situations, but all of them, without exception, were pleasant," reveals Prekić.

When asked what his greatest pride is, Adnan answers briefly - "Family"

When asked what his greatest pride is, he answers briefly: "Family", and that word is also in the answer to the question of what people resent him the most.

"I think my family resents me for working a lot," he concludes.

When the presenter looks at the ceiling

Discomfort, he reveals, is an additional part of working in the studio, although viewers rarely notice it.

"Television is a complicated toy and it is enough for only one problem to arise in the entire chain and you are already in trouble. Fortunately, the entire team of Television Vijesti is a well-coordinated system, so errors, and if they do occur, are quickly resolved on the fly. avoided the answer, I will remember a situation from a few years ago when the power went out a few minutes before Dnevnik. It would not have been a problem if the aggregates were working properly, but they were not, so only the reflectors and the camera were working, without communication with the direction and colleagues . In the middle of Dnevnik, unprovoked, the cameras turned on and recorded me looking at the ceiling. Without communication with the director, I had no idea that I was in the program. It lasted for about 5-10 seconds, after which I noticed a red light on the camera and continued with Dnevnik, it was as if nothing had happened. Fortunately, no one thought to save it," Prekić recalled.

He also admits that laughter in the program is a constant danger because it is difficult to control.

"I know my colleague Dragana Unković very well, and we often use the breaks between programs to joke. Sometimes it gets out of control, and laughter is difficult to control, especially in a live program," laments Adnan Prekić.
