The new film by Duncan Jones, the son of the famous musician and artist David Bowie, entitled "Mute", is inspired by the director's relationship with his father, reports NME.
The plot of this science fiction thriller is set in the Berlin of the future, and at its center is the theme of parenthood. The main role in the film is played by Alexander Skarsgård.
"I think a lot of the film comes from sub-context, which I'll only become aware of as time goes on," Jones said.
"A very large part of the story deals with the very nature of parenting. What makes a good parent?" the director told the British Times.
Duncan Jones says that he wrote the first version of the script 15 years ago, when he showed it to his father. Now he decided to return to that story because "there was so much personal in it".
The movie "Mute" will be shown on Netflix on February 23.
