Idris Elba is reportedly back in talks to star in the next installment of the James Bond film franchise after producers conducted market research that found him to be one of the most popular actors.
Franchise producer Barbara Broccoli, 61, confirmed earlier this year that the actor, 49, was "part of the conversation" to be the next 007 agent.
Elba previously rejected the idea of playing a spy and discussed the possibility of playing a villain, but is being considered again for the lead role after being ranked highly in market research, according to The Sun.
The news comes after producer Broccoli admitted it will take a long time to choose a replacement for Daniel Craig.
Broccoli insisted that it was not so easy to choose an actor to take on the role of the iconic spy.
