In the last hours of 2022, Vijesti television viewers will have the opportunity to see off the biggest regional hits. During the four hours of the program, they will be entertained among others Sergej Cetkovic, Vladana Vučinić, Marija Božović, Nina Žižić, Andrijana Božović, Bane Nedović, Jelena Božović, Isak Šabanović, Tanja Sheter, Yellow Serhatlić, Suzana Tot, Zeljko Vukcevic, but also the guard that marked Montenegrin festivals from the end of the last century - Slobo Kovačević, Macadam, Renata Perazic, Goran Pejović Gula, Mico Vujovic, Dejan Perisic...
And this year, he was the music editor of the program and one of the performers Daniel Alibabic, while she is an executive producer Milena Djergović. The fact that they had the same task last year made their work much easier this year, so, Alibabić admits, they knew from the start how they would design the program.
"Thanks to last year's program, viewership and results, we understood what the audience actually likes to listen to and watch the most on New Year's Eve. We tried to create a concept this year that will be adapted to the Montenegrin audience, and I believe that if last year we were the most watched, that this year the viewership will at least double", Alibabić does not hide his expectations.
Programs like this, in the absence of a festival, are an excellent opportunity for musicians from Montenegro to present a song, however, the concept was to sing tracks that the audience knows, and Alibabić claims that there was no problem or vanity.
"Probably someone from my colleagues thought that. Well, I almost published a new song 'Napadam', which I will not sing in the New Year's program. We have to understand that the New Year's program is a night when people want, more precisely those who decide to stay with the small screens, to enjoy themselves with the songs they know, which are evergreen hits. No one should experience this on a personal level for the simple reason that we all have the opportunity to promote songs when we release them on all televisions, but New Year's Eve is a specific night when the repertoire should be chosen according to the audience. There is no subjective feeling there. As the music editor of this program, I did not include my song, I followed the safe path so that it would be watched and the audience would be satisfied", Alibabić proudly points out.
However, one song will be premiered as part of the program. It is a track that Montenegrin musicians sang together, for which the music was composed by Alibabić, while the lyrics were written by Marijana Kadić Bojanić. The interlocutor of Vijesti claims that he had no problem choosing among his colleagues those who will participate in this project.
"It's a pop song, and Marijana wrote a beautiful, emotional text with a strong message. That's why I was looking to gather pop artists who have been working for years, to last and somehow make this song the crowning glory of our careers. I'm sorry that Sergej didn't get to participate in this project, because we invited him too, but due to business commitments, he didn't record a song and video with us, but he responded to be part of the New Year's program", boasted Alibabić.
It is the songs performed by several artists that have been listened to for years, as evidenced by the compositions that are still loved by the audience today, and were recorded in the '70s and '80s of the last century. Alibabić claims that this joint song also carries that spirit.
"This song really has that old spirit and that's the reaction of all the people who heard it. Even my colleagues who sang it, they were all delighted because it is emotional and reminds of some good times. That's exactly what we wanted, to escape from the present and to return to happy, beautiful times and to enter the New Year full of good, positive energy, to remember old values. That's why we wanted the next year to be a turning point when it comes to the crisis, which is on all possible levels so that we can all overcome it more easily", concludes Alibabić.
