MailOnline has presented a list of the scariest series available on Netflix, and the list includes titles such as "Haunted", "The Watcher", "Dahmer", "Ratched", "OA", "The Haunting of Hill House".
The list presented by MailOnline included titles that tell stories about technology, supernatural curses, then crime reconstructions and even religious horrors.
The reviews of the mentioned productions state that the viewers did not manage to watch many of them to the end and that they "cause nightmares".
"Haunted" - The anthology series focuses on the horror stories of people who have experienced strange paranormal activity - from a house of horrors to a demonic cat that haunts the home with strange howls and hisses.
All three seasons of the series are available to watch on the streaming platform, and fans of the series took to Twitter to say that those who watch it will be "terrified for life".
"The Watcher" - The creepy thriller "The Watcher" has caused nightmares for many, and those who live near the house on which the series is based are afraid to even approach it.
The horror series tells the true story of a couple who were harassed from their dream home by a creepy stalker - whose identity remains a mystery to this day - and has left many people on the internet terrified.
"Dahmer" - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" - The ten-episode series retells the story of Jeffrey Dahmer from the perspective of his victims and explores the major mistakes made by the police in their investigation of the notorious mass murderer, who made headlines for acts of cannibalism and necrophilia.
The show featured at least 10 incidents where authorities nearly took Dahmer into custody, but didn't, extending his gruesome crime spree.
"Ratched" - The psychological thriller developed by Ryan Murphy stars Sarah Paulson as nurse Mildred Ratched, the sadistic villain from Ken Kesey's 1963 novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
The series topped Netflix's charts after premiering in September 2020, and while many viewers were quick to praise Sarah's acting, some were upset by the shocking content.
"OA" - Mysterious spiritual thriller about near-death experiences and surviving trauma focuses on an adopted blind girl from Russia named Prairie Johnson.
Prairie (Brit Marling) disappears for seven years, messes with the FBI, then resurfaces cured of her blindness after jumping off a bridge.
"The Haunting Of Hill House" - Netflix introduced its horror TV series "The Haunting of Hill House" in 2018 and it had a profound effect on some viewers.
Netflix subscribers took to Twitter to reveal that the series is so terrifying that some have passed out from sheer terror, while others can't sleep. "The Haunting of Hill House" is based on the novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson, which has been adapted twice for the big screen.
"The Haunting Of Bly Manor" - After Netflix introduced the supernatural horror drama series "The Haunting Of Bly Manor", some viewers had trouble sleeping.
After watching the series, based on Henry James' 1898 work "The Turn Of The Screw", many on social media shared their experiences of recovering from the gruesome scenes.
"Midnight mass" - The limited series is set on the lonely island of Crockett - home to a disgraced resident played by Zack Gilford, who returns after an absence. Hamish Linklater plays a priest who arrives at the same time.
His appearance leads to inexplicable and seemingly strange events, which lead to a renewed religious fervor in the small community.
