Johnny Depp maybe again in the role of Jack Sparrow

There is a possibility that Johnny Depp will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean film, an insider close to the film has suggested.

The actor played the main role in all five films of the franchise, which began in 2003 with "The Curse of the Black Pearl". However, after the release of the last film "Salazar's Revenge" in 2017, Depp reportedly parted ways with Disney and will not be involved in any further projects.

The breakup comes amid recent litigation between the actor and ex-wife Amber Heard, who claimed the Hollywood actor physically and emotionally abused her.

The feud between Depp and Heard began in 2019 when he sued her for defamation following a 2018 article she wrote for The Washington Post, claiming she was a victim of domestic violence.

The actress then countersued Depp the following year, and the case soon made headlines after the trial began in 2022.

Two trials were held, one in Great Britain and one in the USA. In the British case, although Depp was never charged with rape, he was found to have abused the actress at home. However, in the case of the US, its claims have been largely dismissed as untrue. Although Heard vowed to appeal the verdict in the US case, she eventually settled the case with the actor out of court, paying him $XNUMX million in December.

Amid the controversy between Depp and Heard, Disney reportedly turned its back on the actor. Depp also stated later in the trial that he would not return to Disney "even for $300 million."

Now, while neither side has confirmed that they want to join forces, Sean Belli, Disney Studios president of film production, has hinted that Depp may return to the famous role in the upcoming film.

"We think we have a really good, exciting story that pays homage to the previous films, but you can also see something new," he told The New York Times about the upcoming film, which will be the sixth in the franchise.

When asked about Depp's possible appearance in the film, he stated that Disney is "not ruling anything out right now."

While that doesn't mean the actor will be reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow anytime soon, it does confirm that Disney hasn't made any concrete decisions about Depp not starring in the upcoming film.

Speculation about Depp's possible appearance in the new project surfaced earlier this year, when the film's producer admitted that he would like the actor to return as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Speaking at this year's Academy Awards, producer Jerry Bruckheimer said, "We're all working on this movie. We're very excited, I think we have a great script."

When asked about Depp's potential return, he said, "We'll see. I'd love to. I'd love to have him in a movie, that's all I can tell you."
