In an interview with The Guardian, director Barbara Broccoli mentioned why we won't see a new part of Agent 007 anytime soon after the great success of Daniel Craig and "No Time To Die".
"In my opinion, these kinds of films reflect the time in which they are created, and there is a long way to go before the creation of the new part of James Bond, so we haven't started working on it yet," Broccoli explained.
She added that with Craig they "focused on a character that represents the hero of the 21st century", so the modernization of his successor is necessary:
"I remember the time when the seventeenth James Bond film "GoldenEye" came out: then everyone was saying that the Cold War was over, Bond was dead, there was peace, no more war, no more criminals... man, how wrong they were!"
Broccoli is currently promoting the reality show “007 Road To A Million” where nine couples compete in Bond-themed challenges, with the winners receiving a million pounds. The show will be released on November XNUMXth.
Recently, stories began to circulate in the film world that Christopher Nolan will direct the next two or three parts of the Bond franchise, and, probably, he wants to take over the creative side of the film.
According to World of Reel, Nolan wants to make a direct adaptation of Ian Fleming's original novel of the time, while EON Productions reportedly wants a "modern day" film.
However, an official announcement about Craig's successor and the future director of the new Bond is still awaited. According to rumors, potential replacements for Craig are Aaron Taylor Johnson, Rege-Jean Page and Damson Idris.
