The famous French actor Gerard Depardieu will appear in court in October where he will face accusations of sexually assaulting two women on the set of the film 2021, French prosecutors said, according to the British "Guardian".
The actor, who has denied the allegations, was questioned by French police for several hours on Monday in Paris. Depardieu's defense attorney, Christian San Palas, said that evening after the questioning that his client would not be detained.
A woman who was a member of the "Les Volets Verts" crew reported the actor to the police in February, then told investigative website Mediapart how Depardieu "grabbed her brutally" on set, stomped on her with his feet and with "tremendous force." made it impossible for her to move, while he groped all parts of her body. She said that the actor was taken away from her by his bodyguards.
Depardieu was investigated for rape in 2020 in another case, when actress Charlotte Arnaud accused him of raping her in his Paris home in 2018.
Another report for sexual harassment was filed by actress Elena Daras, who claimed that the actor groped her during the filming of a film in 2007. The case was dismissed due to the statute of limitations.
