Famous actor Hugh Jackman committed to playing Wolverine again in the third "Deadpool" movie before informing his manager. He revealed this in an interview with "Fandango".
The Australian actor said that he made a spontaneous decision after the character of Wolverine was killed off in the 2017 film "Logan".
"I was on the road, driving, and like a bolt of lightning, I was struck deep in the gut by the realization that I wanted to do this movie with Ryan Reynolds... When I said I was done with the role, I really meant it. But in my head, ever since I saw the first 'Deadpool,' I thought those two characters had to get together. I knew the fans wanted that," Jackman explained.
"I couldn't wait to get home, and as soon as I got there, I called Ryan and said 'let's do it'. I didn't even call the manager, nobody," the actor added.
However, not everyone was enthusiastic about this idea. The president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, warned Jackman that with "Logan" he had the perfect ending to his history with the Wolverine character and that he could spoil it. What convinced Feige was Jackman's idea to not play the version of Wolverine that fans know from the "X-Men" film franchise.
"This movie will show a different side of Wolverine that we haven't seen before," the actor explained.
The film "Deadpool and Wolverine" will be in theaters on July 26.
