Actor and director Sean Penn recently addressed the "stories that have been circulating for years", according to which he was physically violent towards the Queen of Pop, Madonna, while they were married, in the period between 1985 and 1987.
In an interview with The New York Times, Pen referred to these accusations and said that at one point he had a special police team around his house because Madonna reported that she had a gun in the house.
"I told them I wasn't going out, because I had to finish breakfast. The next thing that happened was the windows were broken, and they were breaking in. They put handcuffs on me," the actor recalled, and then commented on the story that he hit her in the head with a baseball bat.
"I didn't know what he was talking about. To be honest, I'm not the biggest guy in the world. But if I hit Mike Tyson with a baseball bat, he would end up in the hospital," said Penn, who also pointed out that he is on friendly terms with his ex-wife.
At that time, Madonna, guesting on several television shows, herself revealed that her then-husband was physically violent towards her.
"Although we had more than one heated argument during our marriage, Sean never hit me, tied me up or physically abused me. Any claim to the contrary is malicious," she said at the time.
